Price: $420.00 ORC rear, $180.00 ELF front

Alchemy ORC rear hub
Optimum dimensions with widely spaced flanges for increased lateral stiffness and improved overall wheel strength. Large diameter drive side flange transfers torque exceptionally well, and the large diameter center barrel creates a very stiff shell and provides excellent support for the flanges.

17mm axle reinforced with a tapered 20mm diameter shim that strengthens the area between the hub shell and the cassette body. Supported by five bearings. There are two bearings in the hub shell, two bearings in the cassette body and one oversized bearing that connects the cassette body directly to the hub shell. The unique axle and bearing system creates a stiff hub with excellent support at the critical area between the hub shell and the cassette body.

Driver mechanism consists of 3 simultaneously engaging pawls that ratchet inside a 36 point oversized steel driver gear. The pawl and pocket are oversized to better handle high torque loads. The driver mechanism is supported directly at the hub shell with an oversized bearing to maintain concentricity between the pawls and driver gear.

Compatibility

The ORC hub has the best dimensions of any hub on the market for Campy.

E.L.F. front hub
Optimum dimensions with widely spaced flanges angled at six degrees. The wide flange spacing produces a stronger and stiffer wheel at a given spoke count than other hubs. The wide flange spacing allows the use of fewer spokes while maintaining strength and stiffness.

The E.L.F. hubs use 6900 series bearings for improved durability. 6900 bearings have a relatively thick cross section and larger ball bearings than ultra-thin 6800 series bearings that are used to lower weight on other light front hubs. The bearings are only 3mm from the dropout (94mm apart) dramatically improving the stiffness of the axle. This produces a stiffer wheel, better bearing performance and allows use of a lighter axle without compromising strength or stiffness.
